SAGE Tuition Rewards

As a client of Maffe Financial Group, you can receive a very unique reward – the opportunity for the students in your family to earn discounts on tuition at an expanding national “network” of 300+ private colleges & universities.

Make college more affordable for your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. Enroll them ASAP in Tuition Rewards® from SAGE Scholars, the nation's largest private college rewards program. This is a great, free way to help your family save on college costs.

More than 260,000 students nationwide are now earning Tuition Rewards Points that can be redeemed for tuition discounts -- guaranteed minimum scholarships -- at participating private colleges. Tuition Rewards Points are similar to frequent flyer miles (one point has a value of $1.00). Points give participating students an incentive to attend member colleges, who are looking to recruit more or better students. A college’s normal admissions standards apply. All rewards are spread equally over 4 years.

Rewards are limited to participating colleges for undergraduate study, starting with the freshman year. Member colleges include well-known universities (Bradley, Butler, Clark, Clarkson, Creighton, DePaul, Drexel, Duquesne, Fairleigh-Dickinson, Lawrence, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Dayton, University of Evansville, University of San Diego, University of Tampa, Valparaiso) as well as smaller institutions in 45 states from Maine to Hawaii.

Only private, four-year colleges are eligible to join. The reason: State schools generally do not give in-state residents any financial aid that is not based on a determination of "need" using the FAFSA form (except for athletic scholarships and, sometimes, small honors programs). Approximately 50 very selective private colleges (Harvard, Duke, Georgetown, MIT, Notre Dame, Stanford, etc.) cannot participate because they offer financial aid based solely on “need” (except athletic scholarships, where permitted).

Tuition Rewards Points do not affect a family’s financial aid eligibility and are not taxable (as they do not represent income).

Enrollment is easy. You fill out a form; your financial professional sets up your account. Next, you receive an email from TuitionRewards.com. When you click on the link in the email and supply a user name and password, your account is “activated” -- and you receive the 500-point Enrollment Bonus ($500 value). In addition, each student whom you enroll also receives 500 Points ($500 value). Students must be family members (children, stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, etc.). The enrollment deadline is Aug. 31st of the year that 11th grade begins. Don’t wait!

Additional Tuition Rewards Points are awarded semi-annually as long as you remain a client. Consult your financial professional for the applicable Reward formula.

The Rewards Points are awarded directly to your client Tuition Rewards account. You must transfer the Points to your students’ accounts on or before Aug. 31st of the year that 12th grade begins. When your student applies to a member college, you must submit a Rewards statement to the college at time of application. If your student does not attend a member college, re-claim the points within three years and transfer them to a younger enrolled student beneficiary.
